Maintaining A Compassionate Heart For Others

A Heart For Others (Part 2)

Rev. Johnny Wong

35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. ~ Matthew 9: 35-38

I. See them as Jesus saw

II. Feel toward them as Jesus felt

16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. ~ 1 John 3: 16-18

6 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love. ~2 John Verse 6

III. Take Action as Jesus acted
