Report by David Lai
The Journey of Life which is a Christian organization from Sibu, Sarawak has supplied 10,000 gospel tracts and gift CDs. On 10th to 12th July 2009, BCCM Sandakan evangelistic gospel team worked with BCCM Sibuga evangelistic gospel team and the Journey of Life from Sibu, Sarawak to distribute free gospel tracts and gifts to the people in Sandakan.
There were a total of 24 people who took part in this evangelical activity who - seven from Journey of Life, thirteen from BCCM Sibuga and four from our church. Those from our church were Sister Lee Nyuk Fun, Sister Tsen Mui Yun, Sister Sylvia Lai and Brother David Lai. We distributed the gospel tracks in residential areas in Sandakan. We started from very early in the morning at 5:30 am to 3:00 pm. We also distributed the gospel tracks at wet markets.
We met a lot of people in these three days. Some of them were type A people and they are very open to the gospel. Some were type B or type C people who were resistant and had doubts about gospel. Jesus said “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That’s is why the world hates you.” (John 15:18-19). We faced rejection during evangelism, but we had no fear. There were a lot of joy and peace in doing God’s work. Praise the Lord!
